Today

Surf dips today as swell mix eases, still fun zone. Winds on the lighter side, cleanest in the AM

Happy 4th!

Dawn to 10:00AM: Old SSW swell tapers off, as a little new WNW swell shows, for waves mainly running thigh-stomach-chest high range while best breaks see better sets. Draining negative low tide early AM, then incoming tide push gets an assist rest of the morning, while very light S winds puff up.

Afternoon Outlook: Surf size holds. Winds are light+ SSW onshores. Mid afternoon high tide bogs down tide sensitive breaks.

Not all south swells are created equal. From Bombing Teahupo'o to Massive Wedge, watch the science behind the South Pacific's most remarkable run in decades: https://bit.ly/4xS68hZ

Swells from the west and northwest that ravage the coast north of Santa Cruz are evened out and groomed as they bend into the Monterey... Read more
