Lully, potent round of long period SW swell continues. Shape getting better for structured breaks.

Dawn to 10am: Long period SW swell spreads size around the region better than most. Overall consistency on the biggest sets is lower (7000+ mile travel and Polynesia shadowing). Better breaks are chest-head high and standout focal points push overhead+ at times. Shape favors structure on bigger SPAC sets but those are spaced out so the beachbreaks are in play with lingering tropical and NW windswell mixing in. Clean early.

Afternoon Outlook: Light SW wind, many breaks in play all day.

Check out Signals for a twice weekly (Mon and Thu nights) East Pacific tropics outlook.

Scripps Surf Guide

Scripps Pier, home of the Scripps Institute of Oceanography, can occasionally have more defined sandbars, especially on the south side, than ones found just south at La Jolla Shores. Sandbars tend to get more defined after big swells and/or periods of rain.
