Today

Jumbled mix of swells with onshore wind bump this PM. Onshore wind eases this evening.

Afternoon Outlook: For the late afternoon and especially this evening, wind should back down some and conditions should improve. Unlikely to be a full clean up, but improving from earlier in the day. Still good size swell mix - broken up and lumpy but doable. Plenty of peaks at the beachbreaks, will just need to deal with some bump for a while.

Not all south swells are created equal. From Bombing Teahupo'o to Massive Wedge, watch the science behind the South Pacific's most remarkable run in decades: https://bit.ly/4xS68hZ

Scripps Surf Guide

Scripps Pier, home of the Scripps Institute of Oceanography, can occasionally have more defined sandbars, especially on the south side, than ones found just south at La Jolla Shores. Sandbars tend to get more defined after big swells and/or periods of rain.
