PM Outlook: The lead into the holiday weekend gets a fresh round of selective SSW swell -- a little bit of NW windswell in the mix to keep the lights on outside of the summer magnets. Wind is the issue this afternoon, moderate westerly flow 8-12kts+ adding bump and lump everywhere. Size is waist high on average with summer focal points chest high at times. The wind sticks around through sundown so spots with wind blockage or kelp offshore are the best bet. Low expectations help.

IB, as it's known, breaks year-round and can hold some of the best sandbars in San Diego County. Southwest swells are received better here than most any spot in central San Diego, making it a good summertime alternative to Mexico's beaches. Medium tides work best.
