Today

Short-period E swell offers peaky but somewhat weak surf with onshore winds. Not bad for July

Dawn to Midday: Surf is up a couple notches as low pressure sets up offshore of the region. Fun-size waves into the chest+ high range, a bit bigger for standouts. Gentle-moderate sideshore NE winds and bumpy drifty conditions for most. Nothing ideal but for the time of year, I would try to get some waves at one of the more wind protected breaks. Warm water.

Afternoon Outlook: Continued onshore winds and less than ideal conditions, but some decently fun sized chunky peaks continue to show.

Margate Pier Surf Guide

Above average surf break in Margate, one of the “Downbeach” cities on Absecon Island, south of Atlantic City. At its best, it’s a peeling left and the better wave around for high-performance surfing. Works on all swell directions but best on a southeast. Better on higher tides. Best wind is northwest but handles north and even some light northeast. Read more
