North San Diego Forecast

Today

Decent swell mix - biggest far north county. A few corners and AM wind is light.

Dawn to 10:00AM: Selective SSW swell continues and there's a little new NW windswell joining in. The mix sets up more waist-stomach-chest high waves, with better sets at top northernmost breaks up to shoulder-head high. Not peaky but there will be some more corners/broken up sections around. Especially Carlsbad south. Light wind early picks up from the W through the mid/late AM.

Afternoon Outlook: Surf size holds. Moderate+ onshore WNW wind builds for the afternoon for bump.

Not all south swells are created equal. From Bombing Teahupo'o to Massive Wedge, watch the science behind the South Pacific's most remarkable run in decades. Click here to watch.

Grandview Surf Guide

A beachbreak with a rock bottom covered by sand, Grandview offers a lot of different options depending on the mood of the ocean. And it’s good in both summer and winter. Because it’s situated in the epicenter of the San Diego surf scene, crowds are on it, but the vibes are generally good. Read more
