Today

Continued chest+ high E swell. Wind still not ideal, but light enough for decent conditions.

Midday: Plenty of fun sized chest-shoulder high range surf continues at lunch. We still have light NE winds and the surf is not super clean but very workable. Honestly, it was more fun than I expected when I surfed late morning. Worth doing.

Afternoon Outlook: Winds are light and variable onshore into the afternoon, so there should be some options for pretty fun surf then too. Not perfect, but decent for Summer, although the lower tide may negatively impact some zones.

Avalon Pier Surf Guide

There was a time that the north side was one of the best and most consistent waves in "town." Outside of periodic glimmers on both sides of the pier, that hasn't been the case in more than a decade. There is always hope that the next storm moves the replenished beach around and deposits sand in the right places, so it is always worth a check. If you do surf, watch out for the pilings off the end of the pier left by Hurricane Dorian back in 2019. Read more
