Today

Easing ENE swell with offshore W becoming S winds. Still decent knee-thigh+ high log waves.

Midday: Small ENE swell leftovers still look fun for the bigger boards at lunc. Surf is around thigh high with a few waist high sets still, with playful shape and nice looking water. Clean conditions with light W winds, but it does look like southerly sea breezes will develop shortly. Water is still warm.

Afternoon Outlook: Leftover ENE swell drops out further, and trends pretty minor by late day. Still enough to log, with southerly breezes and some light side texture developing.

Avalon Pier Surf Guide

There was a time that the north side was one of the best and most consistent waves in "town." Outside of periodic glimmers on both sides of the pier, that hasn't been the case in more than a decade. There is always hope that the next storm moves the replenished beach around and deposits sand in the right places, so it is always worth a check. If you do surf, watch out for the pilings off the end of the pier left by Hurricane Dorian back in 2019. Read more
