Today

Stronger S windswell. Sideshore winds much of the day but OK windows for the floatier boards.

Dawn to Midday: More size this morning up to around thigh-waist+ high, but moderate SW winds mean conditions are fairly sideshore where the surf is biggest, in the southern part of the region. Still worth considering trying to find something, but I'd have my expectations pretty low.

Afternoon Outlook: Winds ease and trend a bit more WSW, for slightly improved conditions where the surf is biggest in the Avon-Buxton zone. Spots further north stay pretty small through the day. Worth watching.

WATCH: Pair of Tropical Disturbances, a Few Weekend Waves

***The entire beachfront in front of Buxton Village is temporarily closed to public entry due to the presence of threatened oceanfront structures.***

But the First is the major draw for its consistently heavy, sometimes long, barreling lefts when northeast swells march down the coast. NW and even NNW winds are doable here, which is a good thing as they often coincide with those northeast swells.... Read more
