Small wave gear on the morning tide push is the call today. Have wind blockage if you miss the AM.

Dawn to 10am: Holding SSW swell keeps average breaks in waist high surf as standout summer breaks pull in a few sets to chest high. NW windswell continues to taper down from the last few days, so shape trends more walled at the beachbreaks. The local points are the best bet for shape, just plan around the tide -- drained early then building through the morning.

Afternoon Outlook: As onshore W wind builds this PM, tucked away points are the only real option for semi clean surf.

Not all south swells are created equal. From Bombing Teahupo'o to Massive Wedge, watch the science behind the South Pacific's most remarkable run in decades: https://bit.ly/4xS68hZ

The awkward dance along the barnacle-encrusted cobblestones is worth the hassle when the Aleutian juice is on tap. Read more
