Well overhead surf as Bertha passes by. Strong SE to S winds limit options.
No shortage of surf as the center of Bertha passes just offshore. It is head high to well overhead but stormy for all but the most protected spots.
We'll have strong SSE to S winds most of the day which is going to negatively impact the shape and quality of the surf. That said, not often we have waves this size in the summer, so I'd be ready to work and make the most of it. Know your limits if you do decide to paddle out.

Grayton Beach is a mid-break that works left and right and has better quality on small days, below head-high. The wave is at the mouth of a coastal lake outflow, meaning that the sandbars are dependent on the flow. It cannot be classified as a rivermouth, yet the waves do favor these built-up sandbars.
