Midday: SE swell is offering enough for the big boards around the knee+ high zone at lunch time. More textured now than the morning with light+ onshore southerly breezes.
Afternoon Outlook: More texture develops for the afternoon as SW/SSW winds build. A little more size may develop, but overall the surf remains quite poor.

Being the closest consistently surfable spot to New York City, Rockaway is the most popular day trip for city surfers. The beach is easily accessible by the city train system.
