Know Before You Go: Surf, Weather & Travel Info

Two Mile/Easter Reef:

Two Mile Bay, also known as Easter Reef, is not for the faint hearted. Just out of Port Campbell harbor you’ll find one of Australia’s premier big wave locations. The waves here take a brutal toll on boards, bodies and egos, and you’ll need a ton of confidence and ability if you want to match it with the locals when Two Mile does its thing.

Two Mile starts working when the SW swells start hitting the 10 feet range, and will break at least twice that size. For ideal conditions, a light northerly will help keep the steep take-offs clean as you sight down the line at one of the biggest walls you’re ever likely to see.

A hard-core crew of locals, regulars from the Surf Coast, and professional surfers in-the-know, keep their eye on the weather maps for the rare days when all the conditions come together for an epic session. If you’re not up to it, don’t even think about it; just enjoy the show from the cliff.
