SPECIAL CHARACTERISTICS
This is the first magic board I've had from Michael. I saw a couple of Tom Carroll's boards and I really liked 'em, but I realized I didn't have the strength to ride what Tom is riding as far as how flat they are on the tail -- so basically, I'm riding what Tom rides modified to a little lighter of a surfer. I generally surf a little heavy, and have been trying to get a little lighter on my feet, doing airs and stuff, so we've been refining the boards, increasing tail and nose rockers a bit; thinning out the rails. In my opinion, it all comes down to rockers -- you can always adjust width and thickness and length to the wave or to the approach you're trying to do at that time. Especially the tail rocker -- you're spending so much time back there; finding the balance between too much and too little tail rocker is the key to a magic board.

IDEAL CONDITIONS
Variable surf up to about six feet.
