SHORTBOARD
5'9"x 18 1/4"x 2 1/4"
SHAPER
Michael Baron
SPECIAL CHARACTERISTICS
It kinda felt like the board had too much area in the tail
to be a high performance grovel board; it paddles really nice and
the rocker feels really good. I felt like if I tweaked the fins
a little, it might end up being a good board in real waves. It's
kinda short, so you can fit in tighter spots in hollow waves like
Puerto, where you can take off later and under the lip and still
get barreled. And if you remember to stay back on the fins, it still
responds like a normal board. That's the whole theory with the tow
boards -- once you're on the wave you don't need much board.
IDEAL CONDITIONS
Initially made for super small
Japan, but it works great in super hollow, clean surf up to about
six feet.
