Live Wind expansion

Most wind data comes from forecast models, and just like waves and weather, wind cannot always be predicted with 100% accuracy.

Our Live Wind stations—many of which are only available on Surfline—give you real-time wind data so you can understand the current conditions at your break. Live Wind data is also fed back into our models, giving you a more accurate read of the forecast for the rest of the day.

We recently expanded our wind station coverage around the world, and Live Wind is now available at more than 500 spots.

Cam updates

Now even more surfers can experience the joys of having a cam at their home break. In the last few months, we’ve installed more than 40 new cams, with an emphasis along the east coast of Australia and on Oahu. That includes replacing older cams, upgrading vantage points, and installing cams at new spots. Did your spot get a new cam?

Advanced charts

When looking at 2D charts, it can be hard to read how swells are traveling across the actual (three-dimensional) globe. Great circles, available on charts on web, provide perspective on the paths the swell blobs in the ocean would need to take to head your way.

You can now see if that swell is making its way toward you from the other side of the world—or if it will just slip past. You can also pinpoint and save a custom forecast for any location in the ocean.
