Still nice size off fading swell, largest in the morning. Clean this AM with clouds. Light PM bump.

Dawn-10am: Fading SSW swell, along with a little lingering NW swell, still has widespread surf running waist-chest high in the morning with better breaks far north couty going head-high. Slow fade as the day goes on. Variable to weak onsore wind early for a mostly clean start. Light W wind crumble comes up mid-morning.

Afternoon Outlook: Moderate onshore lump in the afternoon. Manageable but more chatter than the past couple of days. Surf continues to slowly ease.

Connecting the dots between Cardiff Reef and Swami's is a stretch of erratic reef and sand known as the San Elijo, or Cardiff Campgrounds. There are a handful of named waves, including Traps and Tippers, all of which are not as good as Cardiff or Swami's, but offer shifty, fickle, surfable options for those who don't want to deal with the crowds. Read more
