Options to shelter from the wind and make the most of the bigger surf this weekend
Dawn-to-Midday: almost gale force SE wind at first light so don't rush in. If you want to surf through the morning plan to get in at high-tide breaks that handle that wind. Wind starts to switch SW by lunchtime so don't leave it too late getting in.
Afternoon Outlook: sheltered spots that handle strong, W wind the go for an afternoon/evening session. Mellowest surf early afternoon, novices plan to surf as the tide drops. Mid-tide spots will have some size as the tide pushes.
