Today

Surf dips a notch but still fun as SW swell tapers off, most size in morning. Best winds then too.

Dawn-10am: Fading old SW swell is still good for waist to chest high waves, while the better breaks from Manhattan northward are hitting head high, shape improving some after the draining early morning low tide fills in for a while. Surf slowly eases during the day.

SW onshores due through the day, light in the morning for manageable crumble.

Afternoon Outlook: Moderate onshores for the afternoon, size tapers down a bit further.

Manhattan Beach Pier Surf Guide

The best bets for good surf are mixed, combo swells and hope for defined sandbars. All spots south of Manhattan are increasingly shadowed from south/summer swell and rely primarily on southwest, west, and northwest swells. Marine Street is usually the best south swell spot in Manhattan. The beachbreaks are usually walled with some better-shaped waves near the Manhattan Pier.
