Open beaches hold in the waist chest high range - biggest up the north end of the coast, but very lumpy - onshore surf under the fresh SSE winds.
You'll find cleaner surf at southern ends and open beaches just a little north of them. Expect conditions to remain pretty much the same all afternoon.
