Onshore wind and small, junky wind-swell surf

Dawn-to-Midday: onshore WSW wind is strong enough to mean fairly bumpy conditions at exposed beaches this morning so it's not a great look out there. Weak wind-swell is barely pushing into the waist-high range so not much surf even for the floatier boards. Mostly a morning to miss.

Afternoon Outlook: smaller surf this afternoon/evening as the wind very slowly starts to back down. The tiniest of waves for novices/groms late on but with the wind it won't be anything at all special.

Whitsand Bay Surf Guide

When a decent swell rolls in from the west, surfers from Plymouth and around will head for Whitsand Bay, with its nearly 4 mile long stretch of sand. Good banks can be found along the bay but often build up in the Boiler Beach and Freathy Rocks vicinity. Access to the area around Tregantle is regulated by the military (firing range) and closed when red flags flying. Best from low to mid tide. Read more
