Smallish surf early ahead of a fresh bump in long period swell in afternoon. Open beaches best

It's a rainy ol' morning but there'll be waves around for those willing to driver to the exposures. Size is lacking a little early and small surf lends itself best to the open beaches. Watch for some longer period swell in the afternoon with exposures likely to see new energy first. Occasional chest-head high sets could well be on offer later in the afternoon and with winds looking promising all day - a late arvo session could be the pick of it.
