Praia da Grama
Book nowOpened in 2021 and located 45 minutes from Sao Paulo's city center, Praia da Grama became the first full-scale surf lagoon in Brazil and the first Wavegarden Cove installation in the Americas. It features a 160 square meter diamond-shaped lagoon which utilizes a 52-module wave-generation system -- the second-largest configuration in the world when launched. Since its launch, four other private wavepools have opened in and around Sao Paulo, including Wavegarden-powered Surfland Brasil and Beyond the Club as well as the American Wave Machines powered Boa Vista Village Surf Club and the São Paulo Surf Club.
Nestled within the exclusive and ultra-fancy Fazenda da Grama residential and golf community, Praia da Grama's Cove technology can produce more than 20 different wave types catering to all skill levels. Beginners can glide across soft, white-water rollers, while advanced surfers can pull into barrels or punt off air sections. Waves roll through roughly every 7–8 seconds.
It's not immediately clear how much membership costs here, but the facilities are not open to the public.
