Biggest sets/cleanest conditions early, the afternoon offering waves for floatier boards
Dawn-to-Midday: an early start will get you into the biggest, cleanest surf of the day. High-tide breaks will be fun, earlier the better as the swell energy will be slowly easing as the tide drops.
Afternoon Outlook: smaller surf for floatier boards into the afternoon/evening but it will be a warm day so Ok to get the floatier boards in for a paddle. A touch of side-shore wind as the day warms-up, offshore again towards sundown.

This popular bay has a number of banks that work through the tides. At the north end of the bay is the Elevator, a good quality low tide righthander. through consistent, it is slightly blocked by Ramsey Island so picks up less swell than Freshwater West. Best on a pushing tide from low to mid, busy in the summer, quieter out of season. Read more
