On the eastern side of the Fleuirieu Peninsula, in the vicinity of Victour Harbour, you'll find several good options for a decent surf. Furthest east you'll find Middleton, with a pleasant stretch of beach that produces some reasonable quality waves. The water is rarely clear here, partly due to the proximity of the mouth of the Murray River.
Waves here are better suited for beginner surfers, although when the right conditions combine you can get some quality waves. A series of reefs help break up the beach in one area, and this can provide a more regular peak. Can throw out a bit of a lip when its at its best, and provides fun rides for up to 50 meters. So if you want to learn to surf or introduce some mates to surfing, bring them here.
Similar waves can be found at nearby Knights Beach, Day Street and Port Elliot, which can all turn it on given the right conditions. Knights in particular can provide some fun peaks with potential for some little barrels.

Hit the Port Elliot Bakery, Victour Harbour for pubs, bakery, fish and chips, and general store. Always worth considering, too, is a trip to some of the nearby wineries. Get your mate to drive.
