A fifteen-minute drive from the western Java resort town of Pelabutan Ratu, Cimaja is a highly exposed right-hand point that breaks over a rock shelf. It takes all manner of west, southwest and south swells. Predominant winds, however, are on-shore, making early mornings and late afternoons the call. Cimaja has been described as a "high performance" wave, with various bowls, sections and the occasional barrel. It isn't the barreling perfection travelers come to Indonesia for, but rather a fun, rippable wave just a couple of hours from Jakarta.

The area hosts weekenders from the Jakarta metropolis, so there are plenty of touristy and local restaurants.

Cimaja is located in the small rice farming community of Cisolok, fifteen minutes drive from the resort town of Pelabutan Ratu. There are a couple of hotels near the break as well.

Western Java is a cultural center in Asia. Nearby is both the chaotic Indonesian capital Jakarta, as well as the Ujung Kulon National Park that boasts the rare Javanese rhino, tigers, panthers and deer.
