After much speculation and observation from locals, competition directors, and Surfline forecasters, this Sunday is THE day for stop #4 of the 2009 Rip Curl GromSearch fueled by H20 Overdrive at New Smyrna Inlet, Florida. Toss in the best young surfers from Florida, mix in a solid tropical surge from the Atlantic Ridge, $1100 of prize money, and chuck in the final six slots to the National final, tons of prizes from our GromSearch supporters, and the stage is set.

With chest-to-shoulder high surf anticipated, the event is planned to run Sunday, August 16th. The beach gates open at 8 am and heats are scheduled to hit the water at 8:30 am, beginning with the Boys 12/under division, followed by Boys 14/under, Girls 16/under, and finally the Boys 16/under. With low tide in the morning we should be waking up to some entertaining heats, so come ready to shred!

This is the fourth and final stop of the 2009 Rip Curl GromSearch, where groms will compete in hopes of locking down a spot at this years National Championships in November at Salt Creek, CA.
