CONDITIONS: Cold. Snowy. Icy. And damn fine, six-foot surf coming through at Thurso East, if you had the rubber. Stop two of five in O'Neill's Cold Water Classic series braved the brisk waters of the North Atlantic and after five days of competition there were a pair of new Lords knighted in Scotland.

HIGHLIGHTS:
Everyone knew it would be a unique final day when organizers and competitors awoke to snow on the ground Monday morning. And if staying warm wasn't hard enough, how about shivering through a restart due to a lull in the final?

ROYDEN BRYSON WINS O'NEILL CWC SCOTLAND
Raoni took out Stuart Kennedy in the quarters, who led the CWC series coming in after his win in Tasmania.
It must have taken the ocean a bit to warm up as well because winner Royden Bryson and runner-up Yuri Sodre didn't catch a wave for the first 10 minutes of the final. And after the restart, Bryson still didn't get to his feet until nearly 25 minutes of being in the chilly water. But once he did, he made it completely worth it by notching an 8.33 on his opening wave.

"I was just worried about staying warm out there," said Bryson. "It was a long time in the water."

Bryson dispatched Shaun Cansdell in the semis and Nathaniel Curran in the quarters to meet up with an on-point Brazilian in Yuri Sodre. Cansdell wasn't exactly a fan of the chilly temps either.

"I got up really early this morning - about 5am to go for a freesurf," said Cansdell. "There was snow everywhere. I couldn't even see out of the car window - everything was frozen. But I was so stoked I did it. It was such a nice morning."

Meanwhile, Sodre made work of Frenchman Marc Lacomare in the quarters before besting fellow countryman Raoni Montiero in the semis.

QUOTE OF THE DAY:
"Really? I am a Lord? I had no idea! I was just so happy with the ASP ratings points and the $20,000 from this competition as well as that highland sword. That's amazing that I have land and am a Lord!" - Royden Bryson, on his newfound lordship.

RESULTS:
1st: Royden Bryson
2nd: Yuri Sodre
=3rd: Raoni Montiero, Shaun Cansdell
