KPBS TV Airing Mini-Docs Surrounding Sacred Craft Surfboard Appraisals
Encinitas, Ca, January 4, 2010 - KPBS TV San Diego is premiering two mini-documentaries that were taped during the fall 2009 Sacred Craft Vintage Surfboard Appraisal Road Show. Each documentary is 90-seconds in length and will precede the PBS' widely popular Antique Roadshow series.
"We were ecstatic when KPBS suggested filming our 'road show' style surfboard appraisals event last fall," said Sacred Craft Expo Director Scott Bass. "To kick off the new decade with this type of exposure from a respected organization such as KPBS, well, it is an honor for Sacred Craft and for the concept of surfboard road show appraisals. Many surfers have a classic old surfboard or two that may be worth more than they anticipated. That is the magic of PBS' long running Antique Road Show and it translated perfectly for our vintage surfboard version."
The Sacred Craft appraisals event mini-docs will begin airing on KPBS as introductions to The Antique Roadshow on Monday, 1/4 at approximately 7:55pm, repeating the following Sunday, 1/10 at approximately 4:55pm and the second will air Monday, 1/11 at 7:55pm with a repeat the following Sunday at 4:55pm.
Each spot is around :90 with the first spot featuring a variety of appraisals and the second specifically features the pair of wooden boards appraised by a Erwin Spitz, a Surfing Heritage Foundation docent.
The Sacred Craft Consumer Surf Expo will be featuring another of its vintage surfboard road show appraisals during the spring time Sacred Craft Consumer Surf Expo in Ventura on April 10 & 11, at the Ventura County Fairgrounds.
