A small corner of Solana Beach was abuzz Saturday night as iconic photographer Aaron Chang opened the doors of his new Gallery on East Cliff Street to the public for the first time.
Friends, patrons, surfers and media alike filed in to get a first-hand look at the work that has entrenched Chang as one of the patriarchs of modern surf photography.

The energy was high, and the atmosphere friendly. Chang seemed to be taking it all in stride, posing for photos, smiling, and chatting up guests - as any good host does at a premiere event. At its busiest, the room felt more like a crowded bar than an art opening - a hit when you're entertaining a bunch of surfers. All in all, a very nice evening. Well done, Mr. Chang.
