PICTURE PERFECT
Listen in as five Tahiti first-timers recall an unforgettable Pacific island adventure
"When you think of Tahiti, the first thing you picture is massive Teahupoo death waves and sharp reef," said 17-year-old Laura Enever. "I had seen so many photos and videos that were crazy!"
Five girls -- one from New Zealand, two from Australia and two from Hawaii -- had their first Tahitian experience recently and, despite the scary, hairy impressions they all shared before setting foot on the island, each quickly discovered beauty in this unique nook of the Pacific.
"While I was in the customs line a giant black crab ran across the crowded airport room. It was then that I knew I would really like Tahiti," said Rachel Spear. "The air is warm like Hawaii, which I love. Life is more down to earth in Tahiti; in the way I feel living should be -- simple and beautiful."
