Mike Watson has been forecasting surf since the 1990s and brings more than four decades of firsthand experience surfing Florida’s coastline. His specialties include tropical systems, marine forecasting, seasonal outlooks, and surf forecasting throughout the Atlantic basin. Holding both bachelor’s and master’s degrees in Meteorology, Mike combines scientific expertise with an intimate understanding of how weather patterns translate into real-world surf conditions.
Among his favorite forecasting successes are identifying tropical swell eventsthat dramatically outperformed model guidance and helping surfers capitalize onhistoric Atlantic swells. He has supported professional and amateur eventsthroughout his career, but remains especially passionate about helping everydaysurfers score memorable sessions.
