Set up Surf Alerts for your favorite breaks on your iPhone and be notified whenever conditions match your selected criteria. It doesn’t matter if it’s three-foot Malibu or 30-foot Mavericks, we’ll send an alert whenever the waves are right for you. (For instructions on how to set up Surf Alerts, watch the video above.)

Make sure you have the latest version of the Surfline app installed on your iPhone and you are logged in to your account.
From there, head to ACCOUNT and tap SURF ALERTS. (Don’t forget to make sure push notifications are turned on!)
Next, tap SURF ALERTS and + ADD SPOT NOTIFICATION.
Then, tap + ADD A SPOT and pick a break from your Favorites or find a spot you’d like to select.
And finally, set your notification parameters for wave height, condition rating, and report-update time. Then tap SAVE.
Note: Once notifications are set up, they can be easily edited by tapping or toggling them ON or OFF.
If you do not receive Surf Alerts, make sure the spots you selected are breaks where our forecasters issue regular updates – we do not send Surf Alerts for breaks that do not feature a forecaster-generated report. Also, please confirm push notifications are turned on for Surfline. And finally, a word of caution: Surf Alerts will not be sent if your spot does not meet the conditions you selected. So, if you picked a high-quality threshold like “Good to Epic,” be patient – the alert you’re waiting for may take a while.
Surf Alerts are currently available only on the Surfline iOS app. So, if you don’t have the app, download it from the app store on your iPhone and sign in or create a Surfline account.
