10th Annual Ratopia Surf Classic to be held on December 20th at Torrance Beach

ATTN SOCAL SURFERS: All are welcome at the 10th Annual Ratopia Surf
Classic, held on December 20, 2014 at Torrance Beach in Los Angeles,
CA. Join hundreds of local surfers and community activists with 100%
of net proceeds going to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. Check out

contest and potential sponsorship opportunities. Get involved. Come

This year, the Ratopia Surf Classic will feature 7 unique divisions, including:
-Shortboard (ages 19 and up; $40)
-Shortboard (ages 14-18; $40)
-Shortboard (ages 13 and under; $30)
-Longboard (all ages; $30 for 13 and under, $40 for 14 and up)
-Women's (all ages; $30 for 13 and under, $40 for 14 and up)
-Costume (all ages; free!)
-Pie Eating (all ages; $10)

BACKGROUND
In conjunction with the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, The Ratopia Charity
Fund held the 1st Ratopia Surf Classic at Rat Beach in December 2005.
Inspired by friend Denny Bales, who had been diagnosed with Hodgkin's
Lymphoma, the event was an overwhelming success as surfers from all
over California came out to show their support. Together we raised
over $20,000 in donation to the LLS. Now in our 10th year, the Ratopia Charity Fund has raised over $108,000 in total donation to the LLS.
The 10th annual Ratopia Surf Classic will be held on Saturday, December
20, 2014. Now a Palos Verdes tradition, the event represents optimism
and perseverance in the face of adversity and characterizes the best
of our SoCal community. We look forward to seeing you there this Saturday!
