IN THE SPOTLIGHT Billabong's Design for Humanity mixes art, music, fashion to aid Invisible Children The streets of New York City were alive with lights and sounds on Thursday evening. Except we're not talking about Manhattan here. The Paramount Studios' street set in Hollywood was host to the fourth annual Design for Humanity event, which showcased trendy fashion, innovative art, and pumping beats all for a good cause. The party revved up during the runway bikini show before people let lose on the dance floor with music by Kid Sister and FischerSpooner. All the while, live murals complimented the finished art on display. However, at the root of all the partying, attendees knew their money wasn't exactly going to waste. The proceeds from this lively evening aid Invisible Children -- an organization that raises funds for families affected by the war in Northern Uganda. Who says surfers are selfish? |
