Event #2 of the 2006 Matix/Sun Diego Pro/Am Surf Series was held November 12-13, 2005 at Seaside Reef, Cardiff, CA. A new swell showed up right on time and delivered excellent 3-5 ft. clean surf for the weekend. THE 6TH ANNUAL TOMMY TANT MEMORIAL SURF CLASSIC
The 6th Annual Tommy Tant Memorial Surf Classic was an unforgettable event in Flagler Beach this year. The Contest on proved to be the largest to date with hundreds in attendance and all benefits going to the Tommy Tant Memorial Scholarship Fund and the Flagler Resource Center to feed those in need. After the event, a memorial paddle out was held for Tommy Tant, Will Tant's older brother who passed away 6 years ago.

After four days of sun, fun and peaky, Outer Banks beachbreak, the WRV OBX Pro wrapped up the East Coast's WQS trifecta on Sunday. Visiting Hawaiian Jesse Merle Jones took home the crown by going fairly mental on every shred of ocean that came his way. Asher Nolan took second place and Aaron Cormican came in third.

Another year of Outer Banks magic at the 38th Annual ESA Eastern Surfing Championships in Cape Hatteras, NC. Hundreds of competitors fought all week in the clean conditions for the highly coveted title of 'Easterns Champion' with standout performances by Jesse Heilman winning the JR Mens Division and TJ Gumiela claiming victory in the Boys Division.

IRONS WILL
It took them a week to get there and it was no easy path, but in the end it was World Champion Andy Irons and the former Pipeline Master Rob Machado duking it out in small surf. Despite the marginal conditions it was a final to remember coming down to the last wave of the day and a win for Irons.

Peaking at just the right time, Mick Fanning put on an exhibition of power surfing in the final round of the Rip Curl Search WCT Reunion Island. By his own admittance Fanning had been lucky to make it through the early rounds but the fiesty Aussie, who was out most of 2004 with a hamstring injury, gave notice that he is out to win the world title this year.
