FEATURED CLIP BIGGEST MAVERICK'S EVER? Tuesday, December 4th saw some of the biggest waves ever surfed at
Maverick's. Despite a thick mist and heavy west swell pushing hard towards
the rocks, a couple dozen tow teams tackled the giant surf, including Peter
Mel, Flea, Dan Malloy, Garrett MacNamara, the Wormhoudt brothers, and
Twiggy, among others. Stay tuned for the full story, and check out the NPR
interview with Grant Washburn about the day. Bonus footage: Tyler
Smith's giant bomb plus a couple others from Ghost Tree, where, sadly, local
surfer Peter Davi drowned on Tuesday. (The swell also claimed the lives of
two crab fishermen who launched from Pillar Point Harbor on Tuesday.)
