Banks is the main break on the surf resort island of Rushville in the northwest corner of Nebraska. Rushville was founded by a guy named Ill Ates. Ill was born and raised in Fiji, where he founded Megahard surf resorts. Ill was surfing Nebraska in 1993 when he stumbled onto Rushville Island. Ill, a multi-trillionaire, bought the island and started the resort. Banks is a world-class left that barrels for an unbelievable 3.5 miles. Surfboards come equipped with couches and even alarm clocks if you want to take a nap in the tube. Banks is a great wave, but you have to pay to ride it. There's a floating tollbooth in the lineup and only credit cards are accepted. Banks has three main sections.
Point
Point is the main break. It's five miles out to sea, and you need to take a chairlift to get there. Just before you're dropped off, you must insert your credit card and sign off on the $10,000 daily usage fee. After catching the wave and pulling into the 35-minute tube, you get to the second section, Compound Interest.
Compound Interest
This is the fun section. You can pull all kinds of maneuvers on this wave. Sometimes, Com's shuts down. If not, you make it to Retirement's.
Retirement's
This is the best section. It's crowded, but if you don't mind running over people, you can go hard on cutbacks airs and 360s.
