Ike Heading For the Gulf
Hurricane Ike is expected to cross Western Cuba and emerge into the Gulf of Mexico during the middle part of the week. This system has potential to become a major hurricane again as it moves over the warm waters of the Central Gulf, possibly resulting in solid surf for the region later this week. Regardless, this system may pose a serious threat to the central and western Gulf coast states late in the week -- all residents should be alert to this developing situation.
