Hey, this is Sherwood with the report for Sunday afternoon at 12PM. 2-3 ft - knee to waist highand fair+ conditions.
PM REGIONAL OVERVIEW: Conditions are still looking nice out there this afternoon with clean, workable waves on tap. Expect most spots to see knee-waist high surf on average, going chest high on the sets. Top breaks go slightly bigger on occasion. The tide is currently dropping to a 0.8' low around 2:30PM.
This Morning's Dawn Patrol: Small, clean peaks around waist high. Expect fun waves at the Point and through Middles and Gravels. Fair-good conditions overall.
Clear skies, light offshore flow. We have a mix of fading NW windswell to go along with inconsistent SE tropical swell. Expect knee-waist high+ waves for the most part, hitting chest-shoulder high and occasionally bigger through the top Northern OC spots. Winds are light offshore with clean conditions, and the tide hits a 5.4' high around 8AM. MONDAY: Old NW swell remnants and a fading SE tropical swell which mainly passes by. Surf is mostly knee-thigh-waist high zone with plus sets at best breaks. Wind:Steady offshore NE in the morning, NW 10-14kts in the afternoon.

Throughout the month, a new exhibit is being featured in John Wayne Airport ’s (JWA) Vi Smith Concourse Gallery. Entitled “ California ’s Orange Coast : 42 Miles of Tradition and Lore,” and sponsored by the Surfing Heritage Foundation, the exhibit will feature a visual history of the role surfing has played in Orange County spanning nearly 100 years. On display through October 27th, the exhibit is open only to the traveling public and can be seen across from gates 1 through 4 and 11 through 14 in the Thomas F. Riley Terminal.
Looking ahead: On Saturday, November 1st, the Ocean Institute in Dana Point, will be hosting the first annual Surfscience Teen Conference.The Conference starts at 10:00am and goes until 4:00pm and is open to 8th-12th grade students. Teens will have the chance to meet Quiksilver pro surfer Lisa Andersen, participate in a mini-workshop on surf forecasting with Surfline scientist Kevin Wallis, and take a bus trip down to the Scripps Institution of Oceanography in La Jolla.For more information check out the Ocean Institute¹swebsite or call (949) 496-2274.
