Hey, this is Schaler with the report for Friday afternoon at 1:50pm.

waist to head high and poor to fair conditions.
PM REGIONAL OVERVIEW: Textured, mostly walled out surf prevails this afternoon as our WNW swell eases. Better breaks through the region are good for shoulder-head high+ surf, with plus sets a few feet overhead for top exposures. Look for the dropping tide to help out those breaks that like the lower tide.
This Morning's Dawn Patrol: Clean lines with a lot of closeouts showing on the north side of the pier. There are some occasional short corners to pick off.
Mostly sunny with SW winds 5-10kts.
WNW swell (280-310+) is hanging in there with pretty good size surf today, down a little bit from the past couple days (but will start to rebuild late). Many spots are seeing waves in the shoulder/head high range, while top breaks are a couple feet+ overhead and even bigger at times. Surface conditions are smooth with light wind.
SATURDAY: WNW swell holds early then begins to drop late in the day. Surf is in the chest-head high+ range with some well overhead sets for top NW exposed spots.
Wind/Weather: Light N early, turning light to moderate NW over the afternoon.

"Good Clean Fun" is hosting the Jesso King Memorial Downhill Paddle Race on Halloween morning from Cayucos Pier to Morro Bay. This 7 mile downwind and downswell race is open to SUP, kayaks, paddleboards, kneeboards, and outriggers.
