Observed Surf Report by Schaler at 1:40pm
SURF:
4-6 ft
shoulder high to 1 ft. overhead
Hey, this is Schaler with the report for Monday afternoon
PM REGIONAL OVERVIEW: WNW swell continues to fade as NW groundswell holds. Most breaks have chest-head high+ surf, as top spots have surf running in the 2-3'+ overhead zone. Conditions are looking pretty poor at the more openly exposed breaks this afternoon, and only look to worsen as onshore flow builds.
This morning's dawn patrol: Slightly textured, sectiony walls with a few open corners.
Overcast with SW winds 3-8kts.
Today's waves are best suited to the
Mini Fish.
WNW(270-290) swell fades through the day as long period NW(290-300) swell holds on. Better breaks have waist-shoulder high+ surf, with standout exposures pulling in some overhead+ sets. Conditions are semi-clean with light northerly winds. Less tide helps get ride of some of the bump/warble out at most breaks.
Health officals advice against any ocean contact within 72 hours of a rain event due to elevated bacteria levels, especially near rivermouths, harbors and drainpipes.
