Observed Surf Report by Schaler at 1:55pm
SURF:
6-8 ft +
head high + to 3 ft. overhead
Hey, this is Schaler with the report for Thursday afternoon
PM REGIONAL OVERVIEW: Winds remain light/variable onshore this afternoon allowing for a continued clean-up across the region. NW-WNW swell peaked this morning, and will slowly start to fade, as some small SSW swell mixes in. Better breaks have head high+ surf, with 2-3-4' overhead sets for the top NW exposures. Things are still a little crossed-up, but have improved further since this morning, with some fun corners in the mix if you have the patience.
This morning's dawn patrol: The surf is looking a lot cleaner this morning, but still remains a little on the jumbled side. Defintiely looking better than it has the past few days, with a few workable corners on tap.
Partly cloudy with light/variable WSW winds.
Today's waves are best suited to the
Afterburner.
The surf is looking semi-clean this morning, and definitely the best it's been in the past few days as a new NW-WNW(280-300+) swell continues to build in through the day and some small-scale SSW swell mixes in. For the dawn patrol better breaks have surf in the head high+ zone, as top spots pull in some occasional sets approaching double-overhead. Surface conditions are looking semi-smooth, but overall conditions remain a bit on the jumbled/mixed up side. Look for conditions to improve through the morning as the tide drops from a high around 7:30am.
