Hey, this is Schaler with the report for Monday afternoon
PM REGIONAL OVERVIEW: Winds remain light this afternoon, with the surf still looking a bit on the jumbled/mixed-up side as old WNW-NW swell mix holds on. Better breaks have surf running in the shoulder-head high+ zone, with top exposures seeing some 2-3' overhead sets. As long as the winds remain light, the dropping tide should help clean things up slightly.
This morning's dawn patrol: Not working.
Mostly sunny with light/variable offshore winds.
Today's waves are best suited to the
SUP.
This morning we have a mix of mainly old/holding WNW-NW(295-310) swell and some trace SW energy in the mix. Winds are light/variable, but unfortunately conditions remain pretty jumbled-up across the region. Better breaks have waist-shoulder-head high surf, while top spots are in the 2-3' overhead zone on the better sets. Incoming tide push helps slightly, before swamping things out as it builds to an 11:30am high.
County Health officials advise against going into the water for 72 hours after rain due to elevated bacteria levels.
