More Information | Rate Accuracy of This Model
Surfline's LOLA Swell Model is the ONLY global swell model that can separate individual swells to accurately calculate surf heights for any location on Earth. Every surf spot will only have a limited range of swells that produce good surf at that location. Compare the LOLA swell forecast with a spot's "Optimal Conditions" information and your own local knowledge to score the best surf.
The "Swell Rose" above is the only one of it's kind in the world. This shows the directions of all the incoming swells
(N=0° East=90° etc). If you mouse over the swell rose you can see detailed raw numbers of the underlying swells.
US Weather data comes from the WeatherUnderground array of personal weather stations. Data is near realtime. International weather comes from LOLAs high resolution models or WUG where possible.
Tides are generated using the most excellent Xtide system.

We have a winner! Well, at least we have one – Shea Lopez – who was crowned the Red Bull Tow-At champ this weekend during the O’Neill Sebastian Inlet Pro. Shea took down Travis Beckmann, Kai Barger and Alek Parker with a big frontside air to win his second tow-at title. Now he’s neck deep in the main event, which will finish this week. As of the Round of 96, both Brian Toth and Dylan Graves were still in the running. Watch it live here. And stay tuned to Surfline for updates.
Volunteers are now testing local waters as part of the Blue Water Task Force — the Surfrider Foundation's water quality monitoring, education and advocacy program created to alert citizens and officials in their communities about water quality problems and to work toward solutions. Samples are collected every Tuesday and results are available on line. For more information, check the BWTF website. And to volunteer, please call 787.823.2784.
It only takes a little asphalt to make water quality worse. And the PR Department of Transportation's proposed bicycle and pedestrian trail is actually a two lane paved road that will harm or destroy beaches, habitat, beach access and water quality and threatens endangered species including sea turtles and Elkhorn coral. Click here to send a letter urging Rincón's Mayor, the Governor of Puerto Rico, the PR Department of Transportation and the Federal Highway Administration to redesign the path with community input so it makes sense for Rincón and protect
