Surfline's LOLA Swell Model is the ONLY global swell model that can separate individual swells to accurately calculate surf heights for any location on Earth. Every surf spot will only have a limited range of swells that produce good surf at that location. Compare the LOLA swell forecast with a spot's "Optimal Conditions" information and your own local knowledge to score the best surf.
The "Swell Rose" above is the only one of it's kind in the world. This shows the directions of all the incoming swells
(N=0° East=90° etc). If you mouse over the swell rose you can see detailed raw numbers of the underlying swells.
US Weather data comes from the WeatherUnderground array of personal weather stations. Data is near realtime. International weather comes from LOLAs high resolution models or WUG where possible.
Tides are generated using the most excellent Xtide system.

The Mint Gallery Hosts Follow the Light Foundation Fundraiser. On Wednesday, September 10th, 6:00pm - 10:00pm, the Mint Gallery (34085 PCH, Dana Point), an exhibition of Flame's classic and never-before published images will be made available to the public. A slide show of Salt Creek locals, past and present, will be fetured during the opening event. The Hallway Ballers will be the special guest band. We'll see you there.
For the 6th Year, Ventura’s popular land trust hosts its annual FUN-raising Ventura Hillsides Music Festival. Past festivals have featured Jack Johnson(twice), and Donovan Frankenreiter. This year’s headliners include Little Feat and Taj Mahal, as well as Mason Jennings, an emerging artist who has been lauded by Jack, and whose Brushfire label produces. The annual California Street Longboard Classic is an amateur longboard surfing contest open to amateur surfers of all ages. The event is a fundraiser for the re-establishment of the California Street Surfing Museum. The event has been held annually at Surfer's Point for over 20 years and attracts surfers from all over the state and beyond. In addition to the surf contest, this year's event will feature a tandem surfing division, a skateboard half pipe exhibition, several surf and skateboard related vendors, as well as food booths and surf music. The event will be held on September 13th and 14th at Surfer's Point (end of Figueroa Street). This is a volunteer run event.
