Hey, this is Schaler with the report for Friday afternoon at 1:15pm.
SURF: 3-4 ft. + waist to shoulder high and poor to fair conditions.
PM REGIONAL OVERVIEW: Decent sized, semi clean surf prevails this afternoon. Better breaks through the region are good for waist-chest-head high surf, with plus sets for top exposures. Conditions remain semi clean, with a few corners to be found across the region.
This Morning's Dawn Patrol: Semi walled up lines with sectiony shoulders that are mostly close out right now.
WEATHER:
Partly cloudy with WSW winds 2-5kts.
SOUTH SAN DIEGO'S REGIONAL OVERVIEW:
A drop off in the dominate WNW swell direction means smaller surf across the board. While Waist to Shoulder high waves are still fairly common, theyare less consistant for sure. Top open areas can still have some Head+ sets at times but you have to wait awhile. Continued HIGH to LOW tide swing will also affect the size and shape of the surf at all areas through out the day.
FORECAST SUMMARY: SATURDAY: Mix of fading and gradual building WNW swell with waist-chest high surf at many breaks and sets to head high at standout spots. Small SW swell also mixes in. Wind/Weather: S wind early 3-6kts+. Afternoon SW to W wind 6-11kts.
