Good Afternoon, this is davO with the report for Friday afternoon at 1:10pm. 2-3 ft - knee to waist high and poor-fair conditions.
PM REGIONAL OVERVIEW: This afternoon we are seeing our WNW swell mix barely hanging on making for surf in the knee-waist high range for most spots with the better breaks pulling in the occasionally bigger set. Winds are on it out of the W/NW for semi-chopped surface conditions in most areas. Tides are still dropping and really draining things out-look for some improvement as the tide climbs back into the evening. This morning's dawn patrol: Weak peaks rolling through with clean conditions and a few mostly short-lived Rights and Lefts. It's swamped-out right now and inconsistent on sets. Should get better as tide backs out.
PATCHY FOG with calm to light offshore flow early turning to light onshore seabreeze in the afternoon. Today our WNW groundswell and SW swell continue to back off making for surf in the 1-3' range at the better spots, standouts go to around waist high + on occasion. Clean conditions in the morning with patchy fog in some areas. Winds are calm to light offshore right now turning to light onshore seabreeze in the afternoon. It's flooded and swampy due to the 6.69' high tide at 7:05am-which will be draining out to a low of -1.65' at 2:33pm. SATURDAY: Reinforcing pulse of NW-WNW swell mix moves in. Big high tide of 7' at 8am really slows things down early. Look for improving size/shape as the tide drops through mid-morning/early afternoon for some chest high sets at better breaks. Wind: Gusty offshore E/NE Santa Ana winds through the day, slightly easing over the afternoon.
