Happy 4th of July, this is Jonjon with the report for Saturday morning at 5:40am.

No PM update today due to the holiday.
This morning's dawn patrol: Semi-clean, sectiony little lines rolling in with maybe just enough energy to push a longboard. Inconsistent and weak.
Clear skies with calm to light/variable wind
Happy 4th! New, but weak SW groundswell in the water today. The better exposed breaks to the SW energy are holding inconsistent surf mainly around 1-2' with an occasional thigh-waist high wave for select spots (best south of HB). Surface conditions are semi-clean this early morning. Looks like another small day of surf, but the forecast is looking much better for Sunday and early next week!
SATURDAY: Small, slow building SW swell and a touch of NW windswell produce mainly 1-2'+ surf. Standout SW exposed breaks see occasional waist high sets.
Wind: Some onshore wind crumble/bump early, then building WNW wind through the day into the 12-15kt+ range.

With summer officially underway, the HB Surf School, the official surf school of the city of Huntington Beach, announced this week that O’Neill Clothing and Huntington Surf & Sport have be come sponsors of the surf school. Congrats!
The Mermen are bringing the NorCal psychedelic sound-wave-o-rama to LA and San Diego! For those of you who have been spouting enthusiasm for a Southern California appearance, it is almost here. The band will be at Brixton South Bay in Redondo on Thursday, July 9th and Brick by Brick in San Diego on Friday the 10th. Come out and represent.
Former World Championship Tour standout and Endless Summer II co-star Pat O’Connell will have his hand and footprints immortalized in concrete during his induction into the Surfers’ Hall of Fame. Known throughout the surfing world for his contagious optimism and cheerful demeanor, O’Connell joins Jeff Hakman, Bruce Brown and Joey Buran as the 2009 inductees into the prestigious Hall of Fame, at 10 a.m. Friday, July 24 in front of Huntington Surf & Sport (corner of PCH and Main).

Lost: I am trying to find two "lost" surfboards that I gave to Dave Moore?? at "Dingbatz" repair shop in Huntington Beach. He has since disappeared and my boards with him. One was a twin stinger by Ben Aipa with orange to yellow fade center and faux wood grain rails and red fins. The other is a yellow Op single fin with "Ocean Pacific" stylized airbrush on the top deck. I wanted them repaired and restored so I could ride them, but never got the chance.
