On Thursday, July 2nd, ZJ Boarding House and Stoked Mentoring present THE STOKED SUMMER SERIES at Air Conditioned Supper Club (625 Lincoln Blvd, Venice) featuring live music and a special screening of the film
Tales From The Blackvan. Doors open at 7:30pm.
The Freedom Artists Surf Series is always a treat. Each summer amateurs, heavies, and legends come out en masse for its good vibes - the friends, the families, the food, the surf. This month, more of the same. Guys like Killian Garland, Adam Virs, Conrad Carr, and Steven Lippman were on hand for the proceedings, Nathan Carroll won the big purse in the Pro Division, and good times were had by all. Link to

Help Make Surfboards More Sustainable with the Surfboard Cradle-to-Grave Project. Surfboards are notorious for the pollution they generate; interest is growing to design a board from "green" materials, but without a life cycle assessment (LCA) of existing polyurethane and epoxy surfboards, it is impossible to do so. The Surfboard Cradle-to-Grave Project is developing the first-ever LCA of a surfboard, to fill this information gap.
